About Us

The Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of a committed group of strong Christian leaders in the community. They have voluntarily devoted hours of selfless work, time and focus into The Equality Project and it wouldn't be what it is today without the guidance, imagination and love that God has blessed them with.

Shelley Magwood

Executive  & Financial Director

I am one of the founders of this organization and I am blessed to be able to say that God has been with me every step of the way. The journey I have taken with The Equality Project has taught me how to let God lead me where He needs me to go. Progress we have seen over the past years since the start of the organization would not be as it is today if not for His helpful hand and guidance through it all. The success and the ongoing aid to the community is a true testimony of God’s will and wonderful works. Through Him everything is possible.

Pastor Paul Ford

Director of Men's Ministries &

Vice Chair

I am the pastor at Sage Hills Evangelical Free Church in Ashcroft. Prior to becoming pastor, I was involved in business in the Ashcroft area (2000-2014).  I am married and have 3 grown children of which 2 are married, and I have 5 grandchildren.

Briggy Schroeder

Director of Public Relations

I have been a long-time volunteer at the Equality Project serving in the kitchen and meeting people in the dining room.  I love being there and even my family (husband Curt and our five kids) have come to serve occasionally. Being able to help those in need has always been on my heart and I am thankful for what God has been doing and will continue to do at the Equality Project.

Suzanne Foster

Treasurer

I am a new resident to Cache Creek and have only been here for a year.  I feel privileged to help out at The Equality Project and have been helping since the fall of 2021.

I do have some experience with the Westbank Food Bank and the Chase Hamper Society (Chase Food Bank). I was a Councilor and sometimes prayer warrior in Westbank, as well as the Society Treasurer in Chase. I enjoy working together with the staff and volunteers at The Equality Project and hope to continue for some time. Thanks be to God for the opportunity to help out in any way I can!

Hello! My name is Julia Dupras. I moved to Ashcroft in August 2021. I retired in April 2021 and my last job was working as a Dietary Aide at Valhaven Care Home in Abbotsford, BC. I worked there for 12-1/2 years.

I enjoy working and serving others. I believe everyone deserves respect and tolerance. We are all equal at the foot of the cross.
